Englewood Dedicates Street in Honor of Vince Lombardi

Mountain View Road ceremoniously named for former St. Cecilia's coach.

With St. Cecilia's alum on hand, the City of Englewood ceremoniously renamed Mountain View Road "Vince Lombardi Way" at a dedication ceremony Tuesday night.

The legendary Packers coach began his career as a teacher and assistant coach at St. Cecilia's High School in Englewood. He became head coach in 1942 and was said to have fielded the nation's best high school team just a year later. Of course, his star rose considerably after he left.

Lombardi, whose birthday fell on June 11, was also listed as the best coach of all-time in an ESPN documentary that run Tuesday night.
